Farewell to Marlboro

 Created August 2020.

Farewell to Marlboro

To the slidin' and slippin',

Of those Potash hills,

To the wash mix of smoke and laughter.

Farewell to those Marlboro Hills.

Tickling, licking, humming, and chanting,

That graze the trails;

Touching hearts and disgruntled minds:

Behind and forward,

All at the same time.

Taste the sorrow, regret, and free.

Captured my heart.

My flee.

My glee.

Ode to Marlboro;

My troubled and strange friend.

How timely that you have met your end.

Farewell to Marlboro!
